There is a vent on the battery (there is a small hole in the middle of the liquid plug of the ordinary battery and a small tube on the maintenance-free battery) through the atmosphere. If the battery is not properly maintained and the vents are clogged, if the electrical load is too large or the short circuit results in a large current discharge, the reaction intensifies and hydrogen cannot escape, and when the pressure in the battery reaches a certain amount, it will explode; or the escaped hydrogen accumulates at the battery because of poor ventilation, and will burn and explode as soon as it meets Mars.
The first case occurs in the battery life, and the latter case occurs when the battery is charged. The accumulator generates hydrogen and oxygen during charge and discharge, especially when overcharging, water is electrolyzed to produce a large amount of hydrogen and oxygen. If the vent is blocked, the heat and gas generated cannot be dissipated, resulting in an increase in the internal temperature and pressure of the battery, resulting in an explosion of the battery. Therefore, attention should be paid to dredging the vent holes during routine maintenance to prevent dirt from blocking the vent holes.
Solutions adopted in the industry.
In the later stage of charging or overcharge, positive and negative hydrogen generation will be caused, so the battery cannot be sealed in a way that is not sealed. At present, the negative electrode active material(Pb)is used in excess. In the later stage of charging, only the positive electrode oxygenation and the negative electrode does not generate hydrogen. Meanwhile, the oxygen produced by the positive electrode passes through the porous membrane, and the upper layer space inside the battery reaches the negative electrode to oxidize the sponge lead.
In this way, the formation of water can reduce maintenance or maintenance-free, at the same time, the process of "oxygen rerecombination" occurs when the negative electrode is excessive, so that the lead-acid battery can be made into sealed type, and of course, the original lead-antimony alloy should be updated from the original lead-antimony alloy to the lead-calcium alloy with high hydrogen overpotential. The amount of negative active material is larger than that of positive active substance, the electrolyte is reduced to the extent that the electrode is exposed to the liquid level, and the separator with good permeability is selected, and oxygen is "absorbed" at the negative electrode in order to achieve the purpose of sealing, which is a common feature in the battery.
We porou components are used to optimize energy storage and power generation products. With our unique and durable microporous PTFE film, the exhaust hole can compensate the general pressure under normal use and make the gas escape quickly in the event of product failure.
